Backside City
Marion the mystic. Everyone loved her, and loved her shows. She brought in the crowd, and the money. She loved what she did, and that was because she had an unknown power that she would soon find to come in handy. One night on her way home from a show, she had a craving for a deli hogie from Backside City. This was a place that you could find most anything. Good or bad. It. When she walked in the deli Fred was beaming with joy to see her. "Marion, how are we doing tonight?" "Hi Fred, I'm fine, tired, and give me the my regular order?" He told her he would get it right away. "So how's things going Fred?" "Are you alright as far as finances"? Marion always made sure that Fred was good on cash flow. He had ran into some hard times, and Marion took over all his finances until he got back on his feet. she knew Fred since she move the the Big City 20 years ago. He and his wife Torre, used to watch her practice for hours. They had always been there for her after she lost her mother and father in a freak accident. Her Father and mother were taking a walk by the lake where they lived. There was a little pump house at the edge of the lake. A maintenance man was in the house working on one of the pumps. Something busted, and spewed out a toxic gas, when Marion's Father and Mother reached the house, they must of saw him, and went to help. The gases took them over, and they never knew what hit them. The gas was odorless, so they never had a chance. all three died within five minutes of breathing the gas.
Marion became withdrawn for the next five years, all she would do was concentrate on her magic, and her ninja skills. No one knew how skilled a ninja Marion was, that was the secret of her magic. While Fred was making her Hogie. He started giving her disgusting look over the counter, and looking to the left. Marion finally looked over, to see why he was making those faces, and spotted two men counting money and laughing. She went up to Fred and whispered. "Have they been giving you a hard time or something"? "No, but I hate them, they come in here bragging about how much money they made of dog fighting." "I think that is sick." "Oh my God, you know I hate that kind of stuff." "Where is the dog fighting going on?" "Well I hear it's a homemade ring over by the car pits. "Everyone goes there." "I just hate it that's all." "me too Fred, that hurts me." "Anyway here you go doll." Fred wrapped up her food, and handed it to her. She told him that she would call him tomorrow, and left. The whole way home she was thinking about the dog ring. She was getting more and more mad the more she thought about what those dogs were going through. She had four Pits of her own, they were vicious only if you attempted to enter the property, and they didn't know you. She got home, ate her food, and played with dogs for a while, and then she got to looking at her dogs, and couldn't imagine them fighting, to kill each other. They were all brothers, and she had them from pups. She had them trained, and they know that if they fight each other over food, or whatever. There will be consequences to pay. She thought to herself, " I should go check out this dog fighting ring. She got dressed in the appropriate attire. She didn't want to bring any attention to herself. She drove over the Backside City and went to the car pits. There were a lot of warehouses over in the area, and a lot of drugs, and crime.
